Keyword : Precision CNC Machining Parts
In a broader sense, CNC machining generates components with precise tolerances and impressive
material properties. It is well-suited for individual tasks and low-to-medium volume production
(up to 1,000 parts) due to its high repeatability.
However, it does impose more design constraints compared to 3D printing, primarily due to its
subtractive nature.

Specialist Industries
CNC machining stands as a revolutionary force across various industries, offering unparalleled
versatility. In woodworking, CNC machines transform the production of wooden furniture, providing
a time-efficient and cost-effective alternative to manual craftsmanship.
The technology's precision is harnessed in lettering and engraving systems, where it serves to mark
patterns or text onto surfaces, meeting artistic and serialized requirements.
Within the electrical industry, CNC machining plays a pivotal role in tasks such as crafting component
mounting holes in printed circuit boards and producing heat sinks for electronics.
The pharmaceutical sector benefits from CNC machines in manufacturing precise equipment,
including metering pumps, ingredient-dispensing nozzles, and packaging components.
Even in the dynamic consumer goods industry, CNC machining contributes significantly to the creation
of custom material-handling machinery for the food and beverage sector, along with the production
of injection-molded plastic molds essential for food packaging.

FAQ's
1. How much do CNC machining materials cost?
The diverse range of materials available for CNC machining introduces variability in costs,
influenced by both the specific material properties and overall characteristics.
When opting for metal parts, Aluminum 6061 emerges as a cost-effective choice.
For budget-conscious projects, ABS stands out as the most economical option.
It's essential to note that machining difficulty plays a crucial role in cost determination.
Materials like stainless steel, being harder than aluminum, pose greater machining challenges,
leading to an escalation in overall costs.
2. What's the general surface texture of CNC milled and turned parts?
Typically, machined milled parts exhibit a surface roughness of around 3.2μm (or 1.6μm for newer
machines). On the other hand, turned parts can achieve a finer surface with a roughness of 0.8μm.
This indicates that the machining speed does not necessarily need adjustment, highlighting the
precision attainable in turning processes.
3. What are your tolerances for machined parts?
For machined parts, our tolerances typically adhere to +.005”/- .005” local tolerances across most
metal geometries and +/- 0.010" for plastics. It's important to note that these tolerances may vary
for large parts, especially concerning flatness after heat treatment.
For an "As Milled" finish, a minimum surface finish of 125 is maintained for CNC parts.
Fabricated parts come with a 0.010” dimensional tolerance and a 1° angular tolerance.
Tapped holes not explicitly designated as features in the CAD model may be machined to the
diameters specified.
Additionally, no surface treatments, such as anodizing, bead blasting, iriditing, powder coating, etc.,
will be applied unless expressly paid for and acknowledged.
